From Culloden, we recross the Moray Firth and find this place.
It has a pretty harbour.
Here's Avoch village, seen from the harbour.
Further along the north bank is Rosemarkie.
It's here that we find the Plough Inn.
Back over the Moray Firth now, to the village of Cawdor, where the only interesting vehicle in the fleet of Messrs. Campbell was photpgraphed in 1986.
To the northeast is the town of Nairn, where 47630 calls.
Further east is Forres, where LNER 9281 and 8009 were photographed.
Alexander (Northern) had a depot in Forres.
On the Grampian coast is Burghead, which retained some freight traffic at its railway station in 1974 (Ben Brooksbank).
Just along the coast is Lossiemouth, as the light fades.
The next morning, we arrive in Elgin, with LNER 6810 in charge of the Lossiemouth branch service.

Northern had a depot in Elgin. An AEC Reliance was found there in 1976.
This Leyland Bull was also a resident.
A more modern bus to be seen at Elgin depot.
Now it's 1981 at Elgin bus station.
A quick visit now to Fochabers Town station, to see Highland Railway No. 40 'Gordon Lennox'.
On the old GNoSR Elgin to Dufftown branch was Dandaleith station.
At Dufftown itself, an early view of the rail facilities.
On the A920, east of Dufftown, an unusual Mercedes taking part in a rally in 2000.
So, we've arrived at Keith, where LNER class D47 No, 6897 is 'on shed'.
The Strathisla Distillery at Keith seems to be a good place to conclude this post.
