In the last post, I left you on the top of a hill. So now we're going to go down it, to the Lea Valley, where we find Ponders End station, on the GER London to Cambridge line, circa 1914.
Today, Ponders End is served by multiple units, though not 317s, or operated by 'One'.
To the North is Brimsdown station, seen in 1961, photographed by Ben Brooksbank.
Enfield Lock, quite a good distance from Enfield itself, comes next, as 317 504 calls in 2007.
As the title suggests, we've been following the River Lea, which has been canalised to form the Lea & Stort Navigation. Here's Enfield Lock itself.
Beside the waterway is the Greyhound, a McMullen's (of Hertford) house. Learn more about the Greyhound here.
Carrying on Northwards, we enter what is now Hertfordshire, though it was served by London's trams in 1921 or thereabouts. Car 240 is seen at Waltham Cross.
Ye Olde Four Swans in Waltham Cross, long gone.
