QUAINT.....QUAINTON

Time to leave Aylesbury behind and head on north. We soon arrive at the Bucknghamshire village of Weedon, (there's another Weedon in nearby Northamptonshire) where we find one of Red Rover's DMS lookalikes, new to South Yorkshire PTE.

Almost due west now, to Waddesdon, where we find another Red Rover bus and a fine pub called the Lion.

From Waddesdon it's a short walk (or a long walk if you're lost) to Quainton Road railway station, on the former Met & GC Joint. It was once the junction for the Brill Tramway.

Believe it or not, London Transport took over the Brill service! A far cry from the Victoria Line!

Quainton Road station lost its passenger service many years ago, but survives as part of a preservation centre. Find out more here

Various preserved locos at Quainton Road circa 1971.

Destructions Inc rest from restoration of Barclay 'Swanscombe'.

A former Hull & Barnsley Railway wagon at Quainton Road.

Some more preserved rolling stock at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre.

Time for a ride, not on a train, but on the gallopers!

Transport to Quainton village is behind steam!

When we get to Quanton, there's the George and Dragon to welcome us, while we consider  where we might go afterwards

Until the next time.....
