We're still in central Leeds and right outside the railway station is City Square. Here's part of it in 2021.
Much earlier in time - Ice cream anyone?
Here are a few more photos of City Square taken in the 1930s, '40s or '50s.
An old Ledgard's Leyland is seen in City Square.
Quickstep was a short-lived operator.
Four Seasons didn't last too long either (Richard Huggins).
Firstbus is the main operator these days.
There's some new electric buses too.
Arriva is one of several other companies to pass through City Square.
This is where we're heading in a minute, along Boar Lane, but first we must "hang a right" down Bishopsgate Street.
Across the road, the Princess of Wales changed its sex. It's since become the Moot Hall Arms.
Around the corner, we're back in Boar Lane. It's 1908 and the King is expected.
Boar Lane has always been a busy thoroughfare.
In the 1980s, West Riding buses ran along Boar Lane, some in West Yorkshire PTE livery.
Today, Firstbus is dominant.
Other operators along Boar Lane include Arriva, Connexions and Yorkshire Tiger.
A must visit along Boar Lane is this brewpub, Tapped Leeds. The pizzas are good too.
The Griffin is a Greene King pub that has guest beers.
A fairly new establishment is the Banker's Cat, a pub serving Thornbridge beers.
Also just off Boar Lane, we have Friends of Ham.
It's much extended now, but here's the bar in 2012.
Finally, a proper boozer that is sadly missed. The Whip was down an alleyway off Boar Lane.
Next time, we'll take a look around the Parish Church area.
