Let's have a ride through the countryside now, leaving Wendover behind. At a place called The Lee, we find a London Country Leyland National, SNB515, in 1987.
Back to the railway, the Met & GC Joint, and near Great Missenden is a 4-4-4T of the Metropolitan Railway, No. 106.
Here is Great Missenden station, with 165 024 calling.
Outside the railway station is another Leyland National, now owned by London Country North West (Photographer unknown).
There's a good Fuller's pub in Great Missenden, the Cross Keys.
About a mile to the west is the village of Prestwood and a Brakspear's pub called the Kings Head, one of the best for miles.
Continuing westwards we come to Lacey Green, where there's a free house called the Whip Inn.
Princes Risborough is our next calling point, with a look at the church around 1990.
At the railway station, resignalling is well underway.
In 2005 Chiltern Railways 168 111 calls at Princes Risborough.

We now follow the former Watlington branch and soon come to Bledlow station. Photographed by Ben Brooksbank in 1961.

Over the border now, into a new county, Oxfordshire. Chinnor station is now in the hands of a preservation society.
The train is push-pull operated with a Hunslet 'Austerity' 0-6-0St at one end and the rare Clayton diesel at the other.
For our final port of call in Chinnor, we have a few pints at the Red Lion.
